• Sec. Clinton’s Visit to Guatemala - call your Congressional Representatives!

As we previously reported Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is visiting Guatemala this Friday and will be meeting with President Alvaro Colom.  Part of the meeting will also be with the Presidents from several others Latin American countries.  Although the Department of State assures us that the pertinent information on the Grandfathered Adoptions has been relayed to Sec. Clinton’s staff, it would absolutely positively help if Sec. Clinton received calls from our Congressional representatives asking her to include our situation in the agenda.

Therefore the Guatemala 900 asks that you and your friends and families contact their Congressional representatives ( you can get this info at www.contactingthecongress.org ) and ask them to request that Secretary of State Clinton include the stalemated grandfathered Guatemalan adoptions on the the agenda when she meets with President Colom.  Every call will make a difference.

Remember that Sec. Clinton was sent a letter from over 50 Congresspersons in the summer of 2009 asking her to address the Guatemalan adoption issue.  This Friday is her chance, as well as ours.  Make those calls everyone!
